"I
don't know what i'm going to do with this, but it is so wonderful
that i am going to figure something out!" - customers
comments.
These
very colorful, extravagantly curly novelty hand spun yarns
are full of character and make great accents for all kinds
of fiber and craft work. They've been used for - well... just
about anything creative people can think of, and i've been
amazed at what people think of (see link: what can you do
with it). Which includes, but is not limited to:
•
weaving: use as weft and pull the little curls out between
warp threads
• knitting and crochet: knit, couch or fingerweave in
for accents
• add to felted works, by needlepunch or simply felting
parts in
• millinery / hatmaking accents
• basketry
• wall hangings and mixed-media work
I've
even had folks buy skeins to just put on the wall... or around
their necks like a scarf. They're inspiring!
Most
of my sheep and lamb fleeces come from the spring haircuts
of one unique and happy sheep flock bred on a small ranch
at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I spin them
single-ply right from the shorn fleece on a Rio Grande Spinning
Wheel, also a one-of-a-kind design made right here in Taos,
then hand-dye them in pots in my backyard here on the mesa..
when the weather is good!
